Sunday January 4th, Baie-Comeau announced that they had traded left-winger Bokondji Imama to Saint John, in a near trade deadline deal.

The 18-year-old is enjoying a career year, already topping last season’s totals (59 GP, 15 PTS), with 19 points in 36 games prior to the deal.

The Sea Dogs paid a premium for the power forward, giving up a 1st (2016), and 2nd (2015) round pick in exchange for a big playoff push.

The trade has already paid dividends, as Imama tallied two assists and added four shots on net in his first game with the ‘Dogs.

His ferocious style will be valuable during a playoff run, but his leadership will be invaluable to this young Saint John team led by many 17-year-olds.
