Harvey Pinard Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens

CEM is proud to announce that client Rafael Harvey-Pinard was recently drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 7th round of the 2019 NHL entry draft. After three seasons in the QMJHL, including a dominant 85-point season as captain of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies last year, Harvey-Pinard was selected 201st overall by Montreal. Harvey-Pinard continued to impress at Montreal’s rookie camp before being sent back to the QMJHL where he will captain the Chicoutimi Saguenéens this season. CEM is incredibly proud of Rafael’s hard work and dedication, and we are incredibly excited to see what the future holds for him. Congrats, RHP!

Jake Massie Signs 2-Year ELC Contract with Panthers

CEM is excited to announce that long-time client Jake Massie has signed his entry-level NHL contract with the Florida Panthers. After being drafted in the 6th round of the 2015 NHL draft by the Carolina Hurricanes, Jake’s rights were traded to Chicago, and more recently, to Florida. Massie spent the last three seasons at the University of Vermont, where he continued to improve and work both on and off the ice. Jake made his NHL preseason debut on September 19th against the Montreal Canadiens, where he played over 15 minutes, racking up his first career assist, along with four hits.

Benoit Signs 3-Year ELC with Anaheim

CEM is excited to announce that client Simon Benoit has signed his entry-level NHL contract with the Anaheim Ducks. Despite never being drafted, Simon’s continued hard work, dedication to hockey and improvement has led to him earning this contract. Simon spent three seasons in the QMJHL, all with the Shawinigan Cataractes, where his game improved each season. Simon spent the 2018-19 season playing for the San Diego Gulls in the AHL, where he scored 16 points in 65 games. CEM is very excited to see what the future holds for Simon.

Gill Earns Spot with Charlottetown

CEM is proud to announce that client Justin Gill has earned a roster spot with the Charlottetown Islanders of the QMJHL for the 2019-20 season. Gill, born in St-Joseph-du-Lac, Quebec in 2003, most recently played Midget AAA for the Saint-Eustache Vikings where he tallied 32 points in 40 games. We are very proud of Justin and wish him the best of luck for the upcoming season.

Wednesday, May 10th 2017 was a historic night for the CEM family. Callum Booth, Boko Imama, Samuel Dove-Mcfalls and the St. John Sea Dogs won the Presidents Cup in dramatic fashion, sweeping the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, and closing the first chapter of the CEM story. The “Big 3” all had exceptional playoffs, each playing a pivotal role in the Sea Dogs success this season. Callum Booth was the starting goalie for the Sea Dogs and led the league in Goals Against Average among goalies with a 1.67 GAA in the playoffs. Callum Booth Signs with Carolina

On March 16th, 2017 the Carolina Hurricanes and CEM goalie Callum Booth agreed to a three year, entry-level contract. The deal consists of an NHL level salary of $650,000 in the first two seasons, and $750,000 in the 3rd season. If Booth plays in the AHL, he will be paid $65,000 in the first two years and $67,500 in the 3rd year. Booth will also receive a signing bonus of $75,000 each year from the Hurricanes. On April 28th, 2017, The Montreal Canadiens and CEM forward Antoine Waked agreed to terms on a three year, entry-level contract Waked, 20, was a free agent forward who played the 2016-17 season with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the QMJHL. Waked played 67 games in the 2016-17 season for the Huskies, scoring 39 goals and 41 assists, totaling to 80 points and led the Huskies to a second place finish. Waked ranked 5th in the QMJHL with a plus-41 differential. Waked also finished tied 9th in the league for goals scored, and 12th in points, making him a lethal weapon on the ice. On May 31st, 2017, The Los Angeles Kings acquired the rights of Bokondji Imama, also known as “Boko” from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for the Kings 7th round draft pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. Sunday January 4th, Baie-Comeau announced that they had traded left-winger Bokondji Imama to Saint John, in a near trade deadline deal. The 18-year-old is enjoying a career year, already topping last season’s totals (59 GP, 15 PTS), with 19 points in 36 games prior to the deal. Newly drafted member of the Rimouski Oceanic, Hunter Moreau, cracked Team Canada’s lineup for the U-17 World Junior Hockey Challenge. The tournament is scheduled to be played in Sarnia and Lambton Shores, Ontario from November 2nd to November 7th, 2014 and will feature three Canadian teams, namely Black, Red, and White, to compete against some of the best young players in the world.
